The Little Things Matter
I find the stuff that makes my parents mood swing, pretty amazing. Yesterday I was told to "pretend I didn't know anything about Diabetes" so that I wouldn't make any carb counting mistakes. I'd just look up everything. (I was told this because I ate some pistachios thinking they were carb-free) Then later on when I bought a Diabetes education book for my Kindle they were all like, "Oh my goodness! That's so great!" and "I'm so proud of you for being responsible!" (Okay, not really) It taught me that the little things matter. If I keep improving then maybe I will end up getting the response previously mentioned, although that might be a little scary considering that when I reread what I wrote I hear it said in a Miss Piggy voice. I don't want to hear that coming from my dad, but I have had better blood checks today and managed to bring me average down about 20 points from when I last saw it. Now that is progress.

Thank you for being willing to share about this part of your life. I can relate with how difficult it is to keep up good eating habits after being pregnant recently. I'd have great days and horrible days. You might already do this, but I found keeping track of what I ate helpful as I could see how much sugar, for example, I'd eaten that day and that would help me not eat that cookie sitting there saying "eat me. I'm delicious and will make you feel good." You should bever trust a talking cookie. Let us know how we can pray for you.

Thank you for all your concern. I will try that. I've done it before I'm just not very good. Thank you for your prayers and your encouragement.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hear your dad more as a Kermit the Frog voice, but it might be kind or hard to do Kermmy and Piggy together in your head. You're talented, I'm sure you could do it. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The Kermit voice would probably fit him better. I am doing so much better now!
